Message from Millie

June 22 we are going to get chicken finally. Chicken breasts $31 with S&H or leg quarters $17
with S&H. I think the former is a 20 lb. box of individually frozen
and the latter is about 30 or more lbs all frozen together. I don't
have to have cash this time because I still have some vacation cash.
Just your check tomorrow would be fine and we'll settle the difference
when you pick up
on Tuesday afternoon or evening at the church. Be sure I have your
telephone number when you give me your check so I can call you and let
you know when I will be arriving there. It should be after 4 PM and
before 7 PM just so you have some idea. If that is not a good pick up
day for you, say so, I can put it in my freezer which is anxiously
awaiting storage items. My phone is 770-964-4715 or for that day only
since I do not carry my phone in my pocket the cell number is
404-272-7585.

Items from Emergency Essentials this month are good deals. They have
dehydrated freeze dried strawberries in the no. 10 can for $13 and
apples done the same way for $10 each if we purchase 12 cans of each.
As all of you know this is a "group" deal, everyone tells me how many
they want, I tally them near deadline which happens to be the 24th and
if we have the required amount ordered to get the discount, I order
them, if not, I do not order them. No cash is required from you until
the items are picked up by you because they go on credit card and I
won't be billed until they are shipped. Also there are freeze dried
mixed vegetables for making stew in the no. 10 can for $11 each if at
least 12 cans are ordered. They might work in chicken pot pie also.
Then they have "BurnFree Personal Burn KIt" for $7 each with minimum
purchase of 10 (ten). Go to BePrepared.com for further information.
They say quantities are limited on all of these items so please think
fast, contact me by email preferably so I can't forget or see me at
church and I'll try to have a sign up sheet ready by then.

Please contact Joan Patterson quickly about the Marion Berries (all
kinds of fresh frozen fruit, prime fruit, individually frozen pieces
ready to thaw slightly and repackage for later use from your freezer.
The quantity price is what we expect to pay with enough people
ordering.
jspatterson@charter.net is the address. Top quality, fantastic for smoothies.

Look forward to seeing you at church.

Sincerely,
Sister Meyer

Sunday Lessons

The RS presidency would like for everyone in the Newnan Ward RS to be able to enjoy our Sunday lessons even if you are unable to be there because of other callings or anything else.

The Presidency message on June 6th was taught by Sister Jessup and was on Temples and the importance of always holding a current temple recommend. Even if our circumstances do not allow us to attend regularly, we should hold a temple recommend. President Howard W. Hunter said "It would please the Lord if every adult member would be worthy of and carry a current Temple recommend. The things that we must do and not do to be worthy of a temple recommend are the very things that will ensure we will be happy as individuals and as families."

The June 13 lesson was taught by Sister Griffiths and was on the life of our Savior. For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Sister Griffiths taught us about the Saviors life up to the atonement. His birth was prophesied, King Herod proclaims all male babies to be killed, an angel appears to Joseph and Mary and tells them to take baby Jesus to Egypt, Herod dies and angel reappears and tells them to go back. 12 y/o Jesus proclaims that he was about his fathers business, John the baptist( Jesus's cousin) baptizes Jesus. Jesus fast 40 days and 4o nights and is tempted 3 times with things of the world. We are reminded in this lesson how little we know of Christ childhood, but starting in his 30's we see him performing miracles and being a righteous judge and amazing teacher. This summary does not do the lesson justice, but we wanted all to have brief idea of our RS Sunday lessons.

The June 20 lesson was also taught by Sister Griffiths and was on the Atonement.
"I feel, and the Spirit seems to accord, that the most important doctrine I can declare, and the most powerful testimony I can bear is one of the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

His atonement is the most trascendent event that ever has or ever will occur, from creation's dawn and through all the ages of a never ending eternity. It was the supreme act of goodness and grace that only a God could perform. Through it all the terms and conditions of the Father's Plan became operative. Through it was brought to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Through it all men are saved from death, hell, the devil, and endless torment. Through it all men who believe and obey the glorious gospel of God, those who are true and faithful and evercome the world, all who suffer for Christ and his word, all who are chastened and scourged in the cause in whom we are, all shall become as their maker and sit with him on his throne and reign with him forever in everlasting glory." (exerpt from Elder Bruce R. McConkie's final testimony)
